That's funny Indy. I do that to friends and coworkers sometimes when they ask me to burn something repeatedly, knowing I haven't had time. I know the blank CD will give me some time. "Oh, it didn't work? Hmm... Must have been defective. I'll just burn you another one." To have a company do that is pretty low though.

Man, I guess I wasn't the only one that couldn't play my created player pickup games. Looks like 2K put the game out with known major bugs.

I think I am finally going to buy one of the new NBA games. I can get Live for $35 and 2K10 for $60. I've been with 2K for the past 2 years, but Live before that. Which one has the better version this year?
2k10 is $25 tomorrow at Wal-Mart. Not sure I'd want to be there with all the crazies though.

I did that for the Wii, twice actually. When they were real hot that first year I waited outside Circuit City for my first one. A few days later I did the same at Toys R us, got a second one, and flipped it on eBay. I doubled my money on the second one, essentially making my first one free.
A year later I sold the first Wii because it just sat there unplayed. The novelty wore off quick. A year later I still made money off of it around the holiday season.
My 360 is currently in the shop for the RROD, but when I get it back I think I'm going to give 2K10 a run. I understand that the game will have it's flaws but I'm really interested in the My Player mode, and now that the game has been out for a few months I'm hoping that fewer people will be playing online making it easier to get a team game going.
Has anyone stuck with this game and if so how's it going?
Check out this guys My Player videos. He went about creating his player the same way I would have and plan on doing. A fast and athletic pass-first point guard.

Bad choice. It still has soo many problems. There are game breaking bugs and glitches. 2K Sports fucked its fans this year with a shit release.
Is NBA Live better this year? I'm still debating which one to get, but I will be buying one soon.
That's what I'm trying to figure out. I want to buy a basketball game soon and Live looks to be more polished than past versions, but it lacks the My Player feature that 2K10 has. 2K10 got a slightly better rating than Live 10 from IGN but I'd like to hear from someone who has both games and is still playing one or the other.
For my money, College Hoops 2K8 is still the best simulation basketball game ever made. It really pisses me off that 2K had to discontinue the series because of EA's monopoly on the genre.

I don't really play the nba games online. I mainly just use the franchise mode, so I will get whatever game has a better franchise option with the most realistic gameplay.
2K is still the better ''sim'' this year
live is catching up though, finally
No way. 2k10 is the best NBA game I've ever played. Yeah it has some bugs but what game doesn't? The flow of the game is ridiculously realistic.
I'm really enjoying the My Player feature on this game. I used the Draft Combine add-on and after a few different trial runs I settled on a 6'3" 180lb Athletic PG. I played well enough in the Draft Combine to get selected by the Thunder in the late first round.
After a decent Summer League the I was free to choose my training camp destination from about 15 different teams. I could have chosen the Suns, Celtics, Blazers, Cavs.. but I settled on the Wizzards and I really don't know why. I survived training camp without being cut, and 50 point game in the last camp scrimmage probably kept me from taking a trip to the D-League.

Is there a way to change the quarter length? I am not crazy about these 5 minute quarters. Not that I have time to play video games these days anyway...
yes there is, its in options
you can put it to anything from 1, to 12
Do I have to start over or something? I haven't been able to change the quarter length with the game I have going. I guess I'll suck it up and restart if I have to. The 5 minute quarter thing really sucks. Maybe I'll go with a 6-4 power forward this time, I thought that it might be fun seeing the world through the Chuckster's eyes.
I'm not sure if you have to start over or not, but I do know that 2K put out a patch after release that allowed the user to change the quarter length. It's under options->presentation. You're right about playing on 5 minute quarters, it sucks. I could barely get my guy to a B or B+ on games that short. I changed it to 9 minute quarters and I'm earning A+ pretty consistently, as long as Flip Saunders doesn't leave me at SG for whole quarters at a time.
I like the idea of making a player based on the idea of a current or former player. If you do the 6"4" PF make sure you get your strength & rebounding up ASAP or you will be abused by other forwards. I made my character envisioning a mix between Rajon Rondo, Mario Chalmers, and Shaun Livingston. When I eventually increase my offensive attributes enough he'll be like a new age Penny Hardaway.

I'm ballin' my arse off right now. In my 15th NBA game I posted my first career triple-double against the Raptors. 27 points on 13-18 shooting, 13 rebounds, 12 assists, 1 steal and only 2 turnovers.

Seems they must have gotten rid of the horrific bugs that plagued the game. You're not mentioning anything about the problems UOducks. Good to hear. Maybe I'll give it a rent! Too many good games coming out this month (Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Bioshock 2 next week, doh!).
I just went up against my main competition for the Rookie of the Year award, Tyreke Evans. The Kings were up by as many as 17 during the game but barely pulled off the win.
Tyreke Evans:
34 MIN, 44 PTS, 17-24 FG, 5 REB, 6 AST, 1 TO
Glenn "Money" Benjamin:
31 MIN, 38 PTS, 18-23 FG, 7 REB, 14 AST, 2 TO
