    He's playing 40 minutes-plus per game.
What would his stats be like at 30 minutes and having to share the ball?
    Would he pout?
Having to share the ball? That's Iguodala's game. Just the other night he had 8 shot attempts. This isn't a guy who is just looking to score and put up 20+ shots per game. And why would he play only 30 minutes?

Amare and Andre take about the same amount of shots (even though AI plays about 15-20% more minutes per game).

Andy, for the record, I don't have any position on any particular scenario for moving Amare. I was just trying to clarify what Amare was saying on the context of the above quote (or at least, clarify what I thought he was saying).

I still think a bird in the hand is better than 2 or 3 in the bush AT THIS POINT.
Ummm... is that in response to something I said? My only point was about Amare saying to Sarver, don't give me a lowball salary, and then, not use the savings to get good players. I wasn't advocating for any particular deal.
No it was my mistake. It was in response to Andy_S. Sorry.

OK, maybe he'd play more. But he's playing a ton of minutes with Philly because they stink.

I'd probably be more inclined to him if he shot better. I'm just not a big fan the way others are.

You got 3 teams in the west over .500 out of the playoffs.

You got 3 teams in the east under .500 in the playoffs.

Moral of the story: When it comes to east teams, be REAL careful how freely you throw the term "playoff team" around.

Philly sucks and there's no ammount of semantics or anythng else that can take away the stink of that fact.

Philly was a .500 club last year and beat the eventual Eastern Conference champs twice in the playoffs. Yeah, they sucked.

We, at 44-38, beat the eventual NBA champs twice in 2003 - yeah, we were world beaters, huh?

Philly's 19-31 so far this year and out of the playoffs despite the generous east handicap - what exactly do YOU call that, INF?

I wasn't talking about THIS season, Swing.

LL point out that Iggy gets his numbers playing a ton of minutes this season on a terrible team. I countered by pointing to Iguodala playing the same amount of time last season with the same level of productivity (and even better efficiency) on a team that went to the playoffs and gave the eventual Eastern Conference champs a run for their money.

Does that make them world-beaters? No, and I never said anything to suggest. But that team didn't suck, either.

    I'd do that trade if

1.- We got an additional asset in form of youth/pick
2.- We felt that the improvement on defense and rebounding offsets the loss on offense.

If the Sixers don't agree with the first, there's nothing to talk about.

One thing to note is that Amare+J-Rich for Iggy+Dally puts us under the l-tax or slightly above it.

I fear that is motivation enough for the Suns to make the trade without getting a youngster or 1stR.

Of course, Barbs instead of J-Rich is ridiculous.

Still, my prefered route would be Jermaine O'Neal, at least one pick and one young. If the FO felt Beasley is too much of a headcase, I think a third team could be willing to take him and send us something interesting.

But, let's not let facts get in the way of propping one's view at all costs - or shooting back with nothing more than snide commentary when presented with those facts.

Amare for Iggy and Speights is a deal I'd do in heartbeat. It also frees up enough cap space to sign Frye to something just under the MLE.
<--- As cost cutting measures continue, the Sarver administration replaces the Suns Dance team with Romanian orphans purchased on e-bay.

If we do trade Amare my bet Phillie of Miami will not be the destination. The Suns have always surprised us and the rumor mill has usually never guessed it.

Who would have thought Raja and Boris to Charlotte for Richardson and Dudley?

    etc etc etc
Amare was arguably the league MVP for the 2nd half of this season.

Suns without Amare last season were 500 and missed the playoffs under Gentry.
Suns with Amare this season won 54 games and 2 wins shy of NBA finals appearance.

He is still only 27 years old.

Stop being so ignorant - there is not a better choice for this team at the 4.

I really do hope they can work out a deal with Miami. Even if the Philly deal includes Speights, I probably still wouldn't make it.

I also wouldn't mind dealing with Detroit for Prince, Kwame Brown, Jonas Jerebko, Austin Daye, and their 2010 1st rounder (top 1 protected).

One of the potential trades I saw today was Philly, Detroit and Us

    We get Iggy a

    Detroit gets Amare

    Philly gets Ben Gordon

Why in the world would Philadelphia want Ben Gordon for Iggy?

Because they dont have enough undersized shooting guards.
